OFF-ROAD PERFORMANCE ESSENTIALS

RUV World’s Only High-performance V-Twin / CVT Transmission
The only V-Twin in its category offers excellent engine power characteristics: smooth, strong power at all rpm’s – especially in the mid-range – and quick response. Combined with the CVT transmission, the result is instant acceleration – at any rpm. And with fuel injection, setting adjustments to match altitude changes are unnecessary, idling adjustments are unnecessary, and starting is hassle-free.

Liquid-cooled, 4-stroke 749 cc V-Twin offers powerful torque and superb response

Oversquare bore and stroke measure 85 x 66 mm.

The 90° V-Twin configuration offers perfect primary balance, resulting in low engine vibration.

NEW – Slightly increased flyweight mass offers a slight increase in torque feel.

Taking into account coolant temperature, air intake temperature, throttle position, air intake pressure, vehicle speed and crankshaft angle, the fuel injection system (which uses 34 mm throttle bodies and a 32-bit CPU) automatically meters out the ideal amount of fuel for extremely stable power delivery – no matter what the conditions.

A high-pressure fuel pump is located inside the tank. A unique reservoir chamber at the bottom of the fuel pump ensures air does not get into the fuel system.

Engine power characteristics combined with CVT offer phenomenal acceleration. The CTV gives a very direct feel from the engine, and response is also very quick – ideal characteristics for hard riding.

To minimize unnecessary belt wear, a transmission failsafe system automatically retards ignition timing and warns the rider via a belt warning lamp should the engine operate at high rpm for more than 2 seconds while the rear wheels remain motionless (i.e. rear wheels are immobilized and the belt is slipping). The system makes use of input from a gear sensor (not in neutral), vehicle speed (measured from the rear wheel), TPS and engine speed.

ECU features a fuel injection cut control that limits engine speed should the driver attempt to ride away with the parking brake still engaged.

NEW – Larger-diameter radiator fan (211 mm >> 282 mm) increases cooling capacity.

Heat shielding on the exhaust pipe below the intake duct effectively reduces intake temperature.

Chassis

TOUGH LOOKS
From the sharp looks of its predecessor, the Teryx’s new face gives it a more serious, dignified air. The new no-nonsense appearance reflects the Teryx’s tough, powerful character.

Styling
A fresh face gives the Teryx a no-nonsense appearance that reflects its tough, powerful character

NEW – Revised front grill design compliments the new styling.

Bodywork is made of scratch-resistant TPO plastic.

Enhanced Convenience
NEW The hood opens allowing easy access to the front suspension and radiator.

NEW – Coolant reservoir relocated under the hood, for easier access.

Highly Stable Chassis Construction
To harness the full potential of its mighty V-Twin engine, the Teryx features a stable wide-body chassis and robust, highly rigid frame.

The wide track contributes to dynamic stability. Using the same long A-arm concept seen on sport ATVs, the frame was made as narrow as possible to maximize the length of the front and rear suspension’s lower A-arms, contributing to excellent road-handling performance.

The Teryx’s stable wide-body chassis combined with its mid-ship engine and sport-focused suspension, offers riders a package that maximizes cornering performance.

Tubular frame construction offers a highly rigid platform to harness the power of the mighty V-Twin engine

The Teryx features a Roll Over Protective Structure (ROPS).

Ergonomics

The Teryx offers the shoulder and legroom to comfortably accommodate 2 adults.

Form-fitting bucket seats and three-point seatbelts hold rider and passenger firmly in place.

SUPERIOR CARGO CAPACITY INCREASES VERSATILITY
In addition to its top-level sport performance and rugged off-road performance, the Teryx’s cargo-carrying potential and transportability make it a capable partner for leisure/recreation activities, such as camping, hunting or day trips.

Cargo Space
With its substantial 227 kg (500 lb) carrying capacity, the Teryx is an able partner for a wide range of recreational activities

Gas-assisted tilting cargo bed (a standard feature on all models) facilitates dumping cargo.

Tough cargo bed features a steel diamond-plate bottom.

Integrated cargo net secures items being transported in the cargo bed.

Transportability
The Teryx is compact enough to fit in the bed of most full-size* pickup trucks

* Teryx may not fit in some pickup trucks.

Range
The 28 litre fuel tank offers the range to easily allow campers and hunters to get deep into the bush and back without having to worry about refuelling.

Protection from the elements
Steel engine guards protect the engine from damage when traversing rough trails.

Rear mudguard help keep the area under the seat clean

Suspension

High-grade Sport-focused Suspension Enables Hard Riding
The Teryx’s sporty suspension settings were based on the goal of ensuring controlled riding right up to the vehicle’s maximum speed. Combined with the wide-track chassis and mid-ship engine, the highly reliable Kayaba suspension’s ground-following ability enables sure-footed handling in rough terrain and superb cornering performance. Sport models feature higher-grade suspension, further facilitating high-level sport riding.

High-performance, single-chamber gas-charged shocks offer excellent fade-resistant damping performance, even in hard conditions.

Rear shocks feature piggy-back reservoirs. The extra volume of oil helps the shocks run cooler, enabling more stable damping performance under hard conditions.

Both front and rear shocks are preload-adjustable.

High-grade suspension offers high shock absorption performance on rough terrain and superb stability when cornering Sport models offer improved suspension:

Brakes and Wheels

High-performance Off-road Brake Performance
The combination of high-performance disc brakes at the front and a sealed wet brake at the rear offers formidable braking power – an essential component for hard riding. Using two independent systems also ensures reliable braking performance is maintained even in wet or muddy conditions.

Dual 200 mm front brakes gripped by 27 mm twin-piston calipers provide solid stopping power at the front. The discs are recessed in wheels to provide protection from debris, while the rigid-mount calipers deliver enhanced brake feel and increased control.

Unaffected by mud, dirt or rocks

The sealed, internal wet brake also offers longer life than standard disc brakes.

Large 26″ Tires
The Teryx sports the largest tires available in the RUV category. Its 12″ rims and 26″ tires, overcome obstacles more easily than smaller tires and contribute to its excellent rough road handling.

MAXXIS tires specially developed for the Teryx maximize forward traction while offering excellent control for aggressive cornering.

Cast Aluminium Wheels (KRF750S only)
Instead of the standard steel rims, Sport models feature cast aluminium rims. In addition to reducing unsprung weight (each 1 kg lighter than the standard wheels) and increased strength, the polished rims add to the Sport model’s appearance.

Drivetrain

Variable Front Differential Control
Kawasaki’s variable differential lock system allows the rider to easily dial in the precise amount of torque needed

Selectable 4WD
Electrically “selectable” 2WD/4WD system allows easy changing between 2WD-mode for maximum sport performance and 4WD-mode when the terrain gets tough.

Once the switch is flipped, the system engages instantly, ensuring the rider has full control of 4WD activation

Instrumentation

Instrumentation
Multi-function display is standard on all models. Features include:
– digital speedometer
– digital fuel gauge
– odometer
– hour meter
– 4WD indicator
– parking indicator
– water temperature warning indicator
– fuel injection warning indicator
– clock
