Hi folks!

Just wanted to intro my husband and I. We are both newbies and 50+ living just East of Pilot Mountain in Stokes County (just a piece below Mayberry) and the bikes are everywhere on weekends around here. Lots of winding backroads on NC66 from NC268S to Moore Springs Rd. Also NC89 from 268s to Danbury. Towing a three horse slant gooseneck behind a F350 Dually on these roads is not for the faint of heart. Hope to see "y'all" out there! :D

Hey Folks..if you are in a jam with your bike near Pinnacle or Pilot Mountain we have a great couple of mechanics at a small place called Wall to Wall on old 52 between Pinnacle and Pilot Mountain. The couple are honestly the most helpful people I have run into and the wife is as good or better mechanic (hubby says) than he is. Stop by if you are in the area..Robert and Danielle are the owners. :D

Dropping a hello from me and my husband here in Charlotte. He has a 05 VT 1300R and I just got a gorgeous 1971 Honda CB750 K1. ( today actually) We usually go out on Sundays and after a bit of work, I'll be riding along side instead on of the back. ;) Glad to see quite a few of ya from NC!!

Hello Telka!
And ditto on the Gals of NC! Hope you are having a great independant ride this weekend!! My husband and I rode up to Independance, Va. to order a leather jacket, chaps, and gloves from a great company called "Fox Creek Leathers". This is some real quality leather if you know of anybody looking, plus..It's made in the good ole USA!!
Take care! Cp

Hello all,

Just moved to Fayetteville. This is a bike ridin' town. TONS of bikes runnin' around.

Anyone know any good roads here? Things are a lot flatter and straighter than Raleigh. River Road is not bad, neither is Cliffdale Road between Reilly and Raeford.

Any others I should look for? Any bike meetings/get togethers in the area?

Hi everybody,
Newbie GS 650 G rider from near Asheboro, actually Franklinville NC blink and you miss it. Good to see so many fellow Tarheelers on here. if you live close by PM me and maybe we can set up a ride sometime. There are some decent roads around here with not much traffic during the day.
If you know of some good places let me know...lefty

Hey Lefty5150!
I don't now what you ride (it's THAT you ride!!) but, there is a Southern Cruisers State get together in Asheboro this weekend (Friday and Saturday). I would be going but the weather is 50% rain and I have other horses that need riding (weather permitting), LOL! Check into the Southern Cruisers website and see if it is for you! See you on the road, and ride safe!! Cp

Hi dean owens!
When I joined a local chapter of Southern Cruisers I met people from all over the State, including people from the Volusia Riders Forums. It was really nice to see the folks I had been posting with over the past year. Check out Southern Cruisers because they don't care what type of bike you ride, and they are a great group of folks that ride on a regular basis and keep up with local charity rides, etc. Good Luck! :D

Hi all.
I am torn between 2 really nice bikes:
Buell's XB9SX (Kick Ash Translucid) and Triumph's Thruxton (Jet Black).

This would be my first bike. I have ridden a few back in the day but have never owned one of my own. Being in my late thirties I do belive it is time. I am leaning towards the Thruxton due to it being a few hundred $s less, but I am still very torn :frusty: . Any help would be greatly appreciated.

***update***
Never mind. I have decided to go with the Triumph. I like the whole "rockers" thing anyways 8) and there seems to be a strong or growing cafe bike scene in NC.

Hello everyone. New member here from the Charlotte/Harrisburg area. I'm 38 and been riding for about 2 years now. How did I miss out on this for so long. Geez. I love it. If it wasn't for my 3 and 5 year old, my wife would never see me. :D She's not big on riding. She still thinks it's "unsafe". One day I'll get her on the back and I'm hoping she'll get "the bug". We'll see.

Any body ever want to ride, just let me know. Looking forward to meeting a few riding partners.

Happy New Year everyone!
