Check out the CA thread, and www.pashnit.com for roads, although there is a small fee for full access. One hwy I want to check out is hwy36, a short distance from me - Redding to hwy 101. And then take 1 down from there.
Ok, so Monterey is Norcal? hmm....anything above the LA turmoil |

Hey,
Live in San Francisco.
Have you checked out BARF?
They organise a lot of rides in the area and there is a sth bay group.
They would probably be a good bet for riders heading down to your neck of the woods.
See you out on the road sometime. |

Hey Sacramentans,
I used to live up in the foothills.
If you want a good twisty ride thru the mountains try 20 outside Marysville heading towards Nevada city. Then go left on marysville rd and keep on it until you get to 49, turn right and follow to Nevada city.
Great road, great views and some good creeks if it is hot and you feel like stopping.
Have fun out there. |

Yes, good rivers like the Yuba as well. Because at first glance I thought you said "if it is hot and you feel like stripping".
Be carefull going up 49. There's an occasional speed trap at the bottom of the hill just before you get to the first Grass Valley exit - Mcknight Way. And lots of bad hippie and redneck drivers. |
