Arriving in Calgary

I am coming to Calgary tonight May 18, I should be checking in to the hotel by 8-9 PM. If any of you Calgary guys want to meet up and go for a coffee I will be staying at the Best Western Village Park Inn off of 16th & Crowchild by the Foothills Hospital.

Hotel Phone# is 289-0241 and ask for John Savignac

I have to attend the MS Clinic at the Footills Hospital. Yes I'm only in town for one night. I am taking part in a trial for a new drug (I'm a guinee pig). I have be in Calgary at least twice per month for the trial. I've been there a few times but this my second while on the bike so I figured why not meet up.

Give the hotel a call if any of you are up to coffee tonight and we'll meet up.

Best of luck to you in the trail. What could the new drug do for you?

I will see what I can do as I'm on the very opposite side of the city from your hotel and you get in so late. But at the very least I will give you a call at your hotel and say Hi. :D

I have what they call "Primary Progressive MS" and what they are hoping this drug will do is halt or at the least slow the progression as much as possible.

I will be leaving Bow Island ( 1/2 hr out of Medicine Hat ) at about 4pm and it is a 350 km trip so I will try not to stop to often for breaks. I may arrive as soon as 7:30ish. I will use the computer in the lobby as soon as I get in and post it here.

We hope you are just late getting into Calgary as it is 9pm and you are still not at your hotel. :(

We were (Sunshine229 and I) going to come on by and pay you a visit, wish you well and welcome you, but unfortunately, you are not there yet. We do hope everything is fine and wish you the best tomorrow. :D

You are such a great guy, it was great talking to you on the phone. Sorry we all couldn't meet up this time, but I hear you are coming back to Calgary again... :D Great to hear that you are still riding regardless! Way to go. 8)

Thanks guys, I got to the hotel shortly after 9 pm cuz the wife was late getting home and didn't leave home till 5:30. And would you believe it murphy's law struck again, the computer in the lobby was down so I could not even post that I arrived. It was good to talk to you mike ( the creator of this wonderful site) and I will make every effort to get into Calgary early next time to meet you all. My next appt. is on June 29 and I will post another thread with more notice before I go.

As for the ride..... getting to Calgary was a great ride and my radar saved my butt a couple times but getting home today was just nasty. 60km side winds all the way home and it really really sucked (radar not needed 100kph :( . I found a nice little pocket behind a rig till he turned :evil: . But all is well.

Ok this time I'm giving some notice that I'm coming to Calgary.

I'll be there Aug. 11-13 but am only free for the evening on the 11th. If any of you cowtown folks want to meet up it would be great.
