Thought it was time I resurrected this, though I can't for the life of me recall what the latest topic might have been. So I will simply take this opportunity to mention that I licensed my ride last weekend and did 101 kms with about thirty other riders. We had blazing sun and a high of 16. That is celcius BTW so nice and warm. The down side is the forcast is for rain over this weekend but I can ride in style to the dentist today as sun is brightly shining.
God I love Vancouver island weather. Hate Victoria mind you but sure do enjoy the weather out here. Definately M/C paradise. Yeee haaaaa! |

| Thats great news that so many riders are getting out, But depending where you are you could ride almost year round in BC. You'll have to make it to AB for a pub night some time. |

Right. Many do ride year round out here. But I am allergic to cold
Therefor am quite happy to simply ride during the warmer spring/summer/early fall. Perhaps it has to do with the years spent in Alberta .

Here is a short list of events planned to occur this spring/summer for southern (mainly) BC. I scooped this from another site of course.

Hey there knucklehead-taz. I hate to admit it to the others I ride with but the weather sure got crappy after I registered my bike LOL. They might blame me if they knew. :?
Not even looking good for Easter weekend according to the long range forecast. Hopefully things will change by the time Easter comes around.
Are these guys anywhere near to you? http://forums.delphiforums.com/scrc53/start
I find the southern cruisers are real down to earth and some real fanatics as far as riding goes. They have a few events that some of our chapter members attend. I know some of our members will be heading to the chicken fest or whatever it's called. Might be a chance for you to join a few group rides?????
Who knows we may get eyeball to eyeball some time at one of the events. |

Ha. We had a gift from the weatherman yesterday. Forcast was for rain and rain however we had sweet sunshine and warm. Some of us got together for a quick spin out to Sooke and back with a good meal and lemon pie thrown in,
Good company, good food, good ride, what more can you ask for. It was a greattttttttttttttttt day! |

Hey folks...
I just got back from a short trip to the coast. Visiting family-in-law in Chilliwach, Abbotsford and went into Vancouver for a day. First time I've been out there. Very nice, could do without the rain, even though it was mostly pretty good when I was there, but cool place. Great roads for riding too, shame about all the traffic on them. At least people out there know how to drive, Alberta drivers suck compared to your drivers. :?
But I noticed a huge lack of bikes on the road. Like I said, the weather was mostly dry in the day, but I saw very few motorcycles. And we toured around alot. The wife grew up there and took me around all her old hell raising grounds..... where are all the bikes? I'm looking at all the roads and stuff and just jonesin' to try them on a bike..... and I see about 6 Harleys, 4 sportbikes and maybe 5 various UJM's all weekend.
I seen more bikes in Edmonton as I drove through it yesterday on my way home.
Is this normal for you folks? |

Absolutely, I love to ride that part of the country. I usually use the toad rock motorcycle camp ground as my base and tour from there. |

Can't speak for the pass but the long range for Victoria is for above normal temps except for the 25th which they have us at "normal". Vancouver won't differ much.

The traffic, what else? I think we have more idiots per square yard of road then anywhere else in Canada. I just love those people in the left turn lane that suddenly decide to make a right turn instead and without warning, cut across in front of two lanes of traffic. What truely amazes me is for the number of times I have seen that stunt pulled, I have yet to see a single one of them get hit. Unbelievable is all I can say. Sunday is the absolute worse. It must be the day that all the senior citizens decide they have to go for a slow tour around town to make sure nothing has changed from last week. Ya I know, I'm considered a Senior Citizen, but I don't drive around on Sunday "lessen I really has to" |

Next time you are out this, pop over to Vancouver Island, you'll see a lot more bikes. |

AMEN! I see that exact thing all the time too. I think there was a song on The Q a while back, from their "All Bad Band" , it was about the bad senior drivers in town. It came out around the time there was a whole string of "mistook the gas pedal for brake pedal" crashes, remember that? In the song they sing "..why the hell should I signal, I've been turnin' left here for 30 years!?!" haha! Best line in a song ever, especially about Victoira drivers. |

| You think traffic is bad in Victoria? When you go for a ride here in Vancouver, the first thing to do is leave town. |

| I agree with ya Blues. Not a place for those with a weak heart. Decidedly worse than Victoria. As Much as I dislike Victoria, I dislike Vancouver far more. |

| The Pass was clear and beautiful when I went through on April 26th. It was a beautiful ride from Calgary to Surrey. |
