KTM-supported Thomas Oldrati on track for Junior Enduro World Cup title
August 27th, 2008 - KTM Motorcycle Press Release - Total Motorcycle - http://www.totalmotorcycle.com

KTM-supported Thomas Oldrati has been on the podium no less than nine times in the current Junior Enduro World Cup season amassing an impressive lead in the championship standings.

With 247 points and still 100 points up for grabs in the GPs of Italy (Piediluco) and Europe (Mende, France), the 19-year-old Italian rider looks set to secure the title. His nearest rival is fellow KTM-rider Oriol Mena, supported by KTM Spain, who trails him by 47 points. Their nearest rival is French rider Marc Bourgeois back in third with 174 points. The results reflect KTM's policy of nurturing talented young riders and underlines the company policy to be always "Ready to Race" in the top classes of Enduro competition. Oldrati has been on the top of the podium in three of the last four races and was twice joined by Mena in second place.

"I think Thomas is one of the most talented young riders around at the moment and he is at home on all surfaces and conditions," said KTM Enduro Factory Team boss Fabio Farioli. "He can ride in mud, on a hard or sandy surface and in any conditions. We don't come across riders like this very often."

Oldrati's will be onboard with a 250cc 4-stroke for the 2008 International Six Days being held at Serres in Greece from September 1-5.

Meanwhile both young riders have prominent KTM factory riders as their mentors. Oldrati trains with Italy's Alessandro Belometti, currently third in the E2 world championship standings while Meno has the support and encouragement of Ivan Cervantes, presently second in E1.
