Hello folks,
Just found this site. Anyone know if it possible to import a 1998 Yamaha XJ600N from the United Kingdom into Canada?

Hi Trailrunner
Emigrating are we?
The XJ600 was sold in Canada so you could export it no problem. You tend to run into problems when it is not an officail canadian import. If you are emigrating your moving company should be able to provide with info on vechiles.
Cheers

Thanks Mashby,
the reason I posted was because I just got off the phone with a chap from at www.riv.ca and he told me I could not import any bike which was less than 15 years old to Canada from the UK. Now, I am confused.

It is too bizarre, but a vehicle but it seems a vehicle must be 15 years or older!!!
Contact the Road Safety and Motor Vehicle Regulation Directorate at WWW.tc.gc.ca They are responsible for vehicle imports and can let you know if there are any exceptions to the 15 year rule.
Are you emigrating? and if you are which part of Canada? I came from Somerset, UK but I have to say this is a great place to live. |

Ups!
Did I understand this in the right way, that any bike has to be 15 years old when it should be send to Canada, doesn't matter if it was sold there or not?
So may be I would have same problems when I want to emigrate from Germany. But I will inform myself here in Germany about this, sure there will be a solution...
