Re: Identify a Bike

Can't help with a guess much beyond trellis = Ducati but one thing I have learned is that motorcycle owners love to talk about their bikes, especially exotic looking ones. I would just go knock on the door and ask, but then I live in Canada where most people don't even lock their doors....at least w...

Re: This Week: 2008 Honda Nighthawk 250 - VOTE NOW

Mike! the only missing is the MSRP! That would make everybody groan for missing the good old days. I remember very fondly the big brother of this machine, the Nighthawk 450 I had that was bulletproof. Like my ST now it just ran and ran and ran. only thing I did was change the oil and tires. Why Moth...

Re: This Week: 2017 BMW VISION NEXT 100 - VOTE NOW

Fortunately, most of us can tell the difference between a fictional story and factual engineering. If you look at the votes you will see that not everyone has voted to fail it. I voted cool for the reasons you mentioned. But I don't think it is cool to trash others for their viewpoints. Sorry we "al...

Re: This Week: 2017 BMW VISION NEXT 100 - VOTE NOW

Also, I think it's a bit irresponsible for BMW to promote (even as a concept) riding gear that doesn't have any safety features, as if this is an ideal that we should be reaching toward. Anyone who's ever been hit by something tiny (a small rock, a bird, a bug, a branch?) knows that riding gear doe...

Re: Discussion: Evolution or Extinction? End of the Cruiser and Sportbike

I am part of the demographic that lived through the evolution of these styles and myself wound up on a sport tourer. My new bike this year is a 2012 Victory Vision. It's the V-twin thing. But the comfort was important because I plan to ride long distance on it. I may go back to a sport tourer some d...

Re: Do you warm up the motorcycle or just turn the key and go?

My owners manual for the ST 1300 says to wait for the first bar to light on the LED display for the temp gauge before riding. Depending on the time of year this is enough time to get geared up and the wife seated and the intercom working. I like to start it with my helmet off anyway.

There are more fatalities from newbies riding the track at off race times that there are from the races themselves. What is amazing is that you can actually ride the track at all. Definitely on my bucket list.

I've had Bell Star, Bieffe, Shark and Shoei. The Shoei is a modular that I really like but i will be going back to the Shark for a better fit my next purchase. Likely the Evoline. Love that modular thing...especially since I wear glasses, and always will.

Re: This Week: 2017 BMW VISION NEXT 100 - VOTE NOW

Well, 3 DECADES from now, I suppose virtually all vehicles on the road will be "driverless" and thus not likely to t-bone you at an intersection, but I will be interested to see the fail-safe systems that are able to keep ANY rider in the saddle and not sanding themselves smooth on the tarmac. I wil...

In Canada ( or Ontario at least with 13% taxes) you are topping out over $50,000 to ride this off the lot. So I know that only people who really love it will be buying one. And Hanson is right, the idea of cornering on one at speed is downright terrifying. Pretty much a main street cruise or an Inte...

And I wonder how many folks know that the bird in your fourth picture really is called a "Booby"? (In this case a blue-footed booby, found in the Galapagos Islands). My wife and I spent a few days with several thousands of them on the islands. Crazy cool birds with no fear of humans. Brings back man...

Will he be riding a bike with a number 8 on it I wonder? Would be the comeback story of the year for Guy to win the TT after that s**tstorm of an accident.

I keep waiting for them to rename the TT the Mcguinness time-trials...lol. The guy's a monster.
