Kawasaki 650...Why is it so much cheaper?

I've been browsing various websites and I've noticed something Honda CBR600 ~$11k msrp Suzuki R600 ~$12k msrp Kawasaki 650 Ninja ~$7500 msrp Am I missing something? Why is it so much cheaper? I'm operating under the assumption that the difference performance between these models is less than "N...

Re: 1100 Yamaha Backfires and won't start.

Sorry about the delay, but the weather's finally permitted me to work on it. So, it turns out I mixed the wires for plugs 3 and 4. Now it runs again. I also found out at some point I flipped the fuel filter around, so now it's facing the right direction. I took the carbs off, took out the floats, th...

Nope, I haven't touched anything, and it ran perfectly fine when it ran last...a year ago. :P

1100 Yamaha Backfires and won't start.

I've been working on this bike for a while now and I can't seem to get it working. It's an'79 1100 XS. It would run before, but fuel would pour out of the run-off hoses, I forgot the actual name for them. I freed 2 of the floats and I could get it to run, but only 2 (Or maybe 3) cylinders would fire...

'79 Yamaha 1100

After pressuring him for a month, my dad bought a bike, a 79 Yamaha 1100 for $600. It needed the brakes fixed and the carbs fixed. Today, as we're working on his brakes, I kept mentioning the clutch and so he told me to take the cover off the engine to get to it. While I'm doing this, he pressed dow...

'77 Gl1000 Goldwing exhausts

About a month ago, I bought a 77 GL1000 and I love it. It is, essentially, my first bike, since my KZ400 lasted about 15 miles total, but that's not the point of this thread. No, the point of this is that I'm going to replace the exhaust on it. I've noticed it has a lot of white smoke when I first s...

I said Screw It and I'm giving it to my dad, I'll buy a new one later.

Since I wear glasses, and I have a real problem getting them on in those cramped full-face, would a motocross helmet suffice?

It's a Nolan and it's together and all, I just don't remember my chin feeling up the foam on it.

Well, without the liner it's totally perfect, expect that it moves around a bit. Would it be a bad idea to trim down the liner?
