Re: Storing bike for winter - on a lift?

I just purchased and put my bike up on a motorcycle dolly. It works great! I can now roll my bike around the garage with ease and the tires are nessled in pockets not on hard concrete.

Re: Loudest HD model?

I agree with the start out smaller and used suggestions above. You can always trade up and there are plenty of good used bikes on the market. I went from a 250 to a 650 to a 950 Yamaha VStar. Personally I like leather saddle bags on a cruiser instead of the plastic ones. It’s all in the eye of the b...

Re: Looking for Jacket in Hot, Cold and rainy conditions

The quest for a good in cold and heat jacket has been elusive to say the least. My conclusion is it does not truly exist. So no matter what you wear plan on being hot if you are not moving. When it’s 90 out and you are wearing a jacket at a stop light you will be hot period. If it is vented it will ...

Re: Who Builds the best bikes?

Given time and I doubt it will take long, Chinese builders will crack the quality issues and no doubt will start exporting some quality products. Could be interesting. I highly doubt it. They have made no improvements whatsoever. They seem content on selling cr@p made from their exploited citizens....

Re: Who Builds the best bikes?

The question is too open ended. Being the biggest manufacturer doesn’t make their bikes the best. Best at what? There are too many types, models, etc. You have to narrow it down like best looking cruiser, or sport bike, or fastest sport bike for the money, or best off road hill climber. What??

Why would the van driver expect someone to be passing them on the left when she signaled a turn? At least 7 other drivers could figure out not to pass. I'd say this was all the bikers fault.

I have sat on the Harley but I still need to sit on the Triumph.
Can anyone suggest another cruiser that would be good to learn on?
Thank you again for your input
650 Yamaha VStar is a good reliable cruiser priced right.

Re: Our greatest fear as bikers...

Greatest fear is the idiot drivers on the road in cars with a cell phone pasted to their ear not paying attention. Also sand as I am leaning into a curve.
Most difficult to learn was starting out on an incline without moving backward.
Biggest problem – The Weather.

Rider Down, Daughter Witnessed it..

Last Friday my step-daughter witnessed a rider T-bone a van. Killed the biker when he broke his neck. My daughter stopped to help but nothing could be done. Now before you start feeling too sorry for the biker I found out he was passing at least 7 cars on a single lane. The van he hit was making a l...
