Re: Helmet laws - for or against
Motorcycle laws get in the way of Darwinism and that's a bad thing....although it does force dumbasses to become more inventive which is interesting.

Re: How many crashes in how many years?
Crashing isn't mandatory and I don't believe that everyone always crashes eventually. I have over 40 years riding with no moving crashes. I have forgotten to put my foot down on occassion though....damn embarressing...but not a crash.

Re: Deer
I hit a good sized dog one time on a Yamaha 650 Special that I used to have. I caught the poor thing on the head with my right fork end and the owner had to put him down. Poor thing died an awful death with his head split open. I was out in the country going about 45mph and he just ran out in front ...

Re: Riding country highways..
Be careful with backcountry highways. They many times do not adhere to the same curve all the way through and you end up going safely through the beginning of the curve at a certain speed only to find that the turn tightens up a lot and all of a sudden you're going too fast for the road. It's a real...

Re: My first 'unintended' lay down!
I had to chuckle at the reference to your first "unintended" lay down. I've never thought of it that way, considering any lay down to be unintended and the result of a series of events, some unavoidable perhaps, but mostly preventable somewhere before the bike went down.

Re: helmet?
Another point that should be made is that a Ducati 695 is not a beginner's bike. Since you already have one I guess it's a moot point but instead of showing off for the ladies at a bar you should limit your riding to one up , day time, practice for a year. You probably have a nice car too so ride in...

Burgman 650 Scooter
I was set to dislike it and I really wanted a touring bike. What I ended up with in my 07 Burgman is a bike that I have fallen in love with. It has enough power to run two-up on the big roads all day long, it's stable, quick, and agile. With my Givi bags I can carry enough to tour with no problem an...
