Mural is on the side of a lawyer's office on High St. in Mt. Holly, NJ. That's my Triumph Trophy parked alongside.

Re: The Riding Game!

There's a mural in the next town over from me. If it's not raining tomorrow, I'll take a bike over there and snap a picture.

Re: Help!!

Did you take a beginner riding course? If the instructor lives near by, maybe they'd be willing to do it as a favor? Or reach out to a local riding club..... meet some people, make some friends, see if there's someone reliable who would do it as a favor? (For an experienced motorcyclist, it's always...

Re: Centerstand

We have three street motorcycles here with center stands, and the smallest and lightest of them (wife's bike) is the worst to get up on the stand. That bike was factory lowered, but BMW didn't adjust the physics of the center stand to compensate, and it is just miserable to get on its stand. And I'm...

Did you buy a lottery ticket on Sunday? 'Cause someone was definitely watching out for you... it was your lucky day.

Too bad the idiot who passed you on the right didn't actually go into the ditch.... it woulda been karma!

Re: The Blog of Blues

The whole scenario replayed in my brain and I realize now that the car in front of me did not have any brake lights. We (I) are so conditioned to be alerted by red brake lights, that I didn't notice on time that the car in front of me was stopped. Of course, we don't expect cars to stop suddenly fo...

Re: Safest way to corner?

It depends on how much motorcycle experience you have. The technique you're inquiring about is sometimes called "advanced body positioning." As you noted, this is not necessarily a high-performance riding technique. It helps produce conservation of lean angle. Anytime you shift your weight off the c...

Re: Are they really that bad?

I had an accident in 2018 when a pick-up truck swerved into my lane immediately after starting up from a traffic light. It was so quick, I was down before my brain could even process what was happening. In that accident, the chin bar of my full-face helmet took significant damage. If I had been wear...

Nobody have any waterfalls within riding distance?
There's waterfalls within riding distance, the trick is getting the motorcycle into the picture. Around here most waterfalls are in parks and down a stretch of walking trail; motorcycles are left back at the parking lot.

Re: 2021 Harley-Davidson Discontinues 3 Softail Models + CVOs

What do you think of these Harley motorcycles potentially being discontinued? Harley-Davidson clearly has some serious challenges ahead, with the general decline in motorcycle sales in USA, coupled with the aging-out of the demographic that was traditionally the target of their marketing. Their new...

Just wondering if anyone had experience of using Bluetooth headphones and mic inside a motorcycle helmet? I'm not talking about the intercoms just regular earphones and mic? Movaelano, I'm not sure what you mean by Bluetooth headphones vs. intercoms? My wife and I use Cardo Scala Rider G9's, which ...

Re: Spotlight: 10 Coronavirus (COVID-19) Recovery Stories

I think the pandemic is serious enough, but I also think that the economic consequences of this shutdown will be far more devastating. As of this morning, 14K infections recorded in the USA (out of a population of 327 million), but 2.25 million new unemployment applications this week alone. One of m...

Re: How many times have you dropped your bike?

There's several ways to drop a bike, and I'm guilty of all of them. For street bikes: 1. No skills. Haven't done this since I was a beginner, fortunately. When I was learning in 2004, I dropped a Honda Reflex scooter. I was practicing emergency braking, did it too hard and locked up the rear wheel. ...

Re: Only Experienced bikers need reply.

There are very few people I trust enough to ride with and I find the journeys are more enjoyable without the stress of keeping up or slowing down while wondering what the rider in front and/or behind is going to do next. What Gummi said. Aside from Mrs. Stark, the list of people I'll ride with does...

Wife's got her own bikes, a BMW F650GS for street, and a Yamaha XT250 for off pavement. There was a situation last spring where her F650GS was parked about 7 miles away, and she had to ride pillion with me to go get it. It was her first time ever riding pillion. She swears that will also be her last...

KKrap. I just wrote a big entry and it disappeared. I've been having problems with posting.... I login and write something, and then when I go to post, it tells me to log in again, at which point I've lost what I wrote. I pinged TotalMike about it a few weeks ago, and he did something on the server...
