wow what a crook, I know for a fact that a new 06 Yamaha Roadstar is $8999 and a 06 Yamaha FZ6 is $5499 from 2 Yamaha dealers here in central PA and the local Suzuki dealer is selling new S83's for $6699, Honda dealers are selling 05 leftover VTX1300's for $6995 and VTX 1800's for $7995, 06 VTX1300 is $7595, and 06 VTX1800 is $8395. Bike sales are down this year now is the time to buy they are getting desperate. I got those prices I have been looking around. Wait till I get my new bike I will be king of the TMW Forum!

Thanks for the input.

It would be great for others if you see/know prices in your area to post here for those buying.

The prices above were in the paper so I am sure there was lots of room to negotiate once you let them know you were serious. They have to keep it higher than they will sell for to get the inexperienced buyer and to let those who know better think they got a steal when they ride out.

I agree that they are desperate to sell. I low balled my offer on my new bike and they didn't put up to much of a fight. It really helped when I went in there to tell them that if they didn't do the deal today I was going to a named competitor who they knew would bite. Fun to put the pressure on them instead of viseversa.

Do your homework, shop around, tease..tease... and then set the hook. You'll get your price and no hassle as long as your offer is reasonable (i.e. they still need to pay the light bill, etc...)

Moto, I will give you $10000 American for every VTX1800 that you can get new (unused) with less then 1 mile on the odo that is undamaged. I will even pay for the shipping up to Canada.

That's a $2000 profit for you... and a $5000 profit for me if I sell them at MSRP up here. HUZZAH.

STOP LIEING ABOUT PRICES!
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

Well I am setting here looking at my sales invoice for my 2007 Harley Davidson FAT BOY with delivery on 1 OCT for a nice price of $17.200 and oh did I add TAX FREE oh but you have to travel a little distance to get it at that price. I am buying my at the Office here in Baghdad, Iraq. So I figure that you all will be paying a heck of a lot more plus you have to add TAX on top of that as well..........
