22 years old without a blemish on my record. No accidents, no tickets, nothing.

Thats Geico, the others were no better if not worse.

Could be that Rhode Island has mandatory insurance laws and we're just getting gouged.
maybe it's the 22 yr old thing.
Here it's an MA thing. We're a no fault state and everyone's premiums are much higher. Plus lots of people in MA get into accidents - almost everyone drives like jerks. I have no blemishes on my record and my insurance is quite a bit higher than yours.

Generally, at least in VA, and my Pops says most anywhere, insurance rates on cars drops when you turn 25. He said it probably applies to motorcycles too. That being said, I've been working quotes on Progressive Direct online w/suzuki c50, dl650, honda spirit 750, and none of the rates were above $700/yr. 19yo/VA.

Sounds like you were really digging Hondas. What's keeping you from pursuing a Honda?
