Honda Magna 750

#1 Unread post by Innerdichotomy »

I learned to ride on my dad's '89 Yamaha Virago 525, and for the most part really enjoyed it. Now, though, I'm out of the house and looking to purchase my first bike (I have plenty of experience from my dad's but this will be my first personally owned bike) and I was looking at the Honda Magna 750.

I was wondering if anyone had any impressions on the Magna, or a different mid to heavyweight cruiser to recommend over it. Thanks in advance.

I have an 87 Magna 700. The Magna engines haven't changed too much over the years (V4 configuration). It is a very powerful powerplant so watch your throttle  The bike will outgun most similarly sized V-twins though you have to rev it high.

Maintenance on mine is easy, although it does need valve adjustments. Mine has shaft drive, so you don't really have to worry about it but some other Magnas are chain driven.

I'd definitely recommend the Magna. It's a very reliable and very very fun bike.

Ive got an '83 v45 maggie, and that son of a "dog" flys.
they are faster than most 15/1600 twins, so you pretty much eat up harleys for breakfast.
If i can do this right, ill post a link
