v-star 1300 tourer engine/gearbox noise
I am in the market for the V-star 1300, and have heard a few complaints about engine and gearbox noise, about 200+ miles into the breakin. Has anyone used Motoman's recommended breakin and experienced the problem. Yamaha manufactures do the typical "Easy Ride" break-in, but if you drive their test models or talk to the mechanics, it seems they wail on them. Also the test models purr after 4000 miles - no clank or clunk there other than the traditional Yamaha gear shift clunk(which was wisper quiet on the tester). The word I am hearing from other riders is that dealers are saying "that's normal" and just use a heavier oil. In other words - you bought it, you got it. This does not sit well with a $10000 investment. Also on the oil note, anyone using a 15w 40 synthetic instead of the recommended 20w40 regular. Any comments
