Which is a better buy?

If you had a choice to buy a motorcycle, and your choices were between
a foreign model or a Harley Davidson. Which one would you choose and why?

I'm very biased, but bang for your buck, go with the foreign bike. Except the exotics like Ducati or Motoguzzi. Italians and Germans you also pay a premium. Japanese and maybe Korean is where the value is.

A much more informative and helpful post would be to ask which STYLE of motorcycle (ie: touring, cruiser, sport, dual-purpose) would one choose and why. "Harley vs foreign" is a very non-productive debate and one that has been beaten to death long ago here and on every other motorcycle forum on the planet.

Who. Cares. Where. It. Was. Built.

Next troll, please...

Personally I don't care what badge is on the cycle, bang per buck is what I want. If I find a cheap Harley then thats what I'd have, likewise if it was a cheap japanese bike.

The simple fact that HD don't really make many cheap or sport tourer style bikes, is why none of mine have been HD

Sure, it's a topic that's been beaten to death, but I want a Harley.

I ride a metric cruiser, but, for a number of reasons, I want a Harle :)

Whatever I liked best.

Aren't there other American Motorcycles (God, now you DEFINATELY know that I ride foreign :| )? Like Victory?

It's whatever toots your horn that you can comfortably afford- that's the best bike for you.
