little Trip report (pics)

#1 Unread post by sapaul »

As a family we have had a few scooters and small bikes around for years and my daughter rides a 125, however those guy's that say scooter riders are not real bikers are sooo wrong.

You can compare the size of the Grand little/Vista next to the K1200S.

This scoot performs like a bike but without the clutch action and no gearing or foot brake. 0 to 60kmh is a couple of seconds and leaves the cages at the stop streets.

Image

It weighs in at 150 kgs but you would never think so by the way it handles, all of the weight is under the rider and if you do not know how to counter steer, do not ride this machine. It is so suprising as to how well it handles. I found this scoot to be responsive, stable, very agile. I like the presence on the road and the convenience of the features. I like how it turns and it's grace and I like it's looks.
I think the best way I can do this is to list the good points.

Low C of G, can stop and go without putting feet down

No complications, twist and go, rear and front brake integrated on left hand, front brake also on right hand.

Plenty power, quick away and 140kmh top end.

Good wind protection.

Good styling

Nice "O Ring"

and if you lift up the seat, you can hide the bodies under there.

My daughters comments: so much bigger, it gives me more confidence on the road that they won't push me around, also the highway speed means no one can complain that I go too slow.

The Goose's comments: Give me a week or two to see what faults I can find, then I will give you a trip report to post for the boys and girls. So far though you made a good choice(meaning me).

Overall as a rider of a much superior machine, I am impressed by the Kymco Grand little. The build quality is very good, the rideability is first class and as I looked for a machine that would multi task, I think I found one suitable.

Yea, Great "Thatching". But couldn't they have thought of a better name?

Just kidding anyone that is on the road on a regular basis, on two wheels, is a real "Rider".

Different strokes for Different Folks.

Happy Riding.
