Maier universal sport fairing for 7 inch round headlight

Today I installed this on my kz650sr. It is of very high quality and durable. No worries about breakage during installation.

About the installation. You get hardware, the faring, and the windscreen. The instructions are very good, but you must custom fit the brackets (meaning bend and shape), and drill all the holes for the mounting hardware. The windshield and faring are predrilled where they attach to each other. There is plenty of extra hardware left over for your assortment. It attaches both to the headlight pivot bolts, and to the handlebars, so it's very solid. Lots of plastic washers and a foam strip to kill vibration, and relieve stress around the windscreen mounting holes, and faring mounts.

When I get out for a ride, tomorrow, I'll post the wind reduction. In my typical riding position, it looks loke it will send the air over the top of my helmet. I'll let you know. For now, It just looks awesome sitting there.

How's that fairing working out for you? I'm considering buying something similar. Wondering how much wind reduction it provides.

on my bike, it does a great job. I cut my seat down an inch a few months ago, due to a short inseam, so I sit an inch lower. I do, however have a long torso, and that makes me sit at about average height in relation to the screen. The wind hits me about 2 inches above the faceshield and just continues over without affecting my head at all. I can ride hands off at 70 mph, but I couldn't before the faring. I only did this to test it out. Not advocating hands-off riding, just saying that the wind reduction was dramatic in my case. I noticed an increase in a buffeting type sound from under my neck area after the faring was installed. This was only noticeable without earplugs, which I almost always wear. Overall, I'm very pleased with the performance. I was really getting fatigued at highway speeds after 25 miles or so. Now I can just go and go. 8)
