They're getting an awful lot of use out of one basic engine and frame!!

Yup, I'd definately agree with that. Although, 2 new models are not using it (if I remember off the top of my head):jstark47 wrote:They're getting an awful lot of use out of one basic engine and frame!!

The dealer here in Calgary let me take one out about a month ago....and it was a blast. Al of your fun happens at under 100Km per hour though as it gets a little vibey up to the top speed of 120K. If you never had to do any highway they could be a lot of fun for not a lot of money...

Re: Royal Enfield, 110 years of bike building. New models.
Was reading a bit of the history of Royal Enfield and it's pretty amazing how innovative a bike company they were. Developed some of the first telescopic suspension forks along with swing arm rear suspension with shock absorbers. But I think the most amazing thing was, they experimented with a functional ABS system for bikes back in 1958, this was a time when only jet fighters were starting to get ABS systems as standard equipment. Pity they did not follow through with a production model of ABS equipped bike.
Always ask why.
