750 #Motorcyclists to Celebrate Ronald #Reagan's 100th Birthday at Reagan Library on Sunday, September 25
Major SoCal Harley Event of 2011 to feature Karen Davidson and Special Guests

Seven hundred and fifty motorcyclists from 11 Southern California Harley-Davidson dealerships will ride to the Reagan Library in Simi Valley on Sunday, September 25 for a VIP party celebrating the 100th birthday of Ronald Reagan.

The 11 participating Harley-Davidson dealerships are Anaheim-Fullerton Harley-Davidson, Antelope Valley Harley-Davidson, Barger Harley-Davidson, Bartel's Harley-Davidson, California Harley-Davidson, Harley-Davidson of Glendale, Harley-Davidson of Westminster, Orange County Harley-Davidson, Pomona Valley Harley-Davidson, Simi Valley Harley-Davidson, and Ventura Harley-Davidson. Group rides ranging from 25 to 75 miles will depart all 11 dealerships between 8am and 9am.

Many celebrities, government officials, and special guests are also expected to attend, including Grand Marshal Karen Davidson, the granddaughter of Harley-Davidson's co-founder William A. Davidson, who has been riding Harleys since she was 9 and is today Harley-Davidson's Creative Director of General Merchandise.

"Harley riders all have a special place in their hearts for President Reagan and his role in rescuing the company in the 1980s by imposing tariffs on imported motorcycles," said Mark Ruffalo, owner of California Harley-Davidson and chairman of the second annual Reagan Library ride and VIP party. "Though we expect a huge Harley rider turnout, all motorcycle brands and automobiles are welcome."

The party is limited to 750 guests. Tickets are $55 and offered first come, first served and include full access to the Library and Museum, the Air Force One Pavilion, the Nascar exhibit, and the private VIP party grounds. Guests will be treated to an "All You Can Eat" Presidential buffet, a concert by Ken O'Malley and the Twilight Lords, raffle prizes, stage ceremony, a Centennial commemorative pin, and much more.

The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library & Museum is located at 40 Presidential Drive in Simi Valley. "100th Birthday Ride & VIP Party" tickets are available online at www.ReaganLibrary.com or at one of the 11 Harley-Davidson dealerships.

Better off having 750 bikes doing burn outs and tearing up his grave, the basstard. One of the worst things to ever happen to the US and the world was having him sit as POTUS for two terms. De-regulation of so many industries, including my own, the start of the war against the middle class, the real beginnings of shipping good paying manufacturing jobs over-seas, laying the seeds of the financial crisis that has rocked the world, wonky bs economics, even his VP George Bush Sr. called them Voodoo Economics during the Republican nomination race and spent the better part of his term trying like hell to undo some of the damage, all happened under Ronnie's watch. Sadly for Geo. Sr., it would take his idiot son to eclipse the stupidity of Ronnie Raygun.

Actually, now that I think about it, limiting the number of bikes to 750 looks like a shot at Japanese bike manufacturers, especially since this event is being hosted and sponsored by Harley Davidson. After all it was under that prat Reagan that HD was able to get the US Congress to place a tariff against all foreign bikes in general but Japanese bikes in particular that had engines with displacements of 750cc's or greater. Back in the day, an in-line 750 four was the bike to have and that tariff all but killed off 750 engine. Luckily both Japan and Europe have some very smart engineers and we now have the 600cc class of bikes. I think it would be ultra cool to have say a couple of swarms of 600 bikes with 600cc engines buzzing around disrupting the celebration.
Always ask why.

One cannot blame a two term president for the fiasco and damage created during their second term. The blame can only lie with the misguided people that voted them in for another term.

Bush came to reign during a true national disaster (9/11). Usually great leaders rise to legendary status when confronted with disaster during their reign. Even somewhat mediocre ones do as well. As for GWB...

Bush was in over his head, he lacked the extreme intelligence of his predecessor (Clinton) and the extreme oratory skills of his successor (Obama). Certainly without a doubt far more intelligent than the average citizen, but at a job of this immense difficulty and level, he definitely lacked the necessary intelligence and skills. Being surrounded by people of immense intelligence like Cheney, I really wonder how much shot he actually called; was he really a puppet as some people have asserted?

In the end in a very ironic way, he did create history. He and his administration left the GOP in such a toxic state that pretty much no matter who ran for the opposing party, their victory was imminent. Had Hilary ran, we would have had the first woman President of the US. I personally would have preferred Hilary over Obama but the fact of the matter is, because of GWB, we now have a black President of the US. And that itself is a very cool thing. :D
