CALGARY, AB (December 20, 2016) - The Motorcycle Show – Calgary is the manufacturers’ showcase of all the new 2017 models. The Show will take place at the BMO Centre, Stampede Park January 6-8, 2017, with doors opening at noon on Friday.

“Every year the number of ladies attending our Show grows, which reflects the trend of increasing numbers of women taking up the sport,” says Laurie Paetz, Show Manager, “ woman are no longer willing to just be a passenger, and manufacturers are adapting by coming up with models more suitable to the female frame and stature.”
She Rides takes place on Friday, January 6th. Ladies will receive half price admission after 5:00 pm. Industry experts will be on hand to guide women through the bike buying process, and help identify which bike would be just right for your needs. The highlight of the evening will be a draw for a brand new 2017 Ninja 300 motorcycle provided by Canadian Kawasaki Motors and Blackfoot Motosports. This bike is lightweight, agile and provides a super smooth riding experience. One lucky lady will start the 2017 riding season off in style.
Torch Motorcycles will also be on hand. They are a community of female moto-enthusiasts who design and build their own café racers. They are continually collecting data to help in the design of components, apparel and safety equipment specifically for women. Stop by to see some of their latest innovations.
Yamaha “How to Sessions” conducted by expert Clinton Smout will provide riders with tips and tricks to safely navigate some common riding situations and obstacles, including slow speed riding techniques, how to effectively maneuver on gravel roads, as well as the proper technique to safely pick up a fallen motorcycle.
The Yamaha Riding Academy introduces children ages 6-12 to the sport of off-road riding in a safe, supervised environment all under the watchful eye of professional instructors. Sessions run throughout the weekend but fill up quickly so be sure to sign up early.
One of the more popular features of the 2017 Motorcycle Show – Calgary is the Ground n’ Gravity Freestyle Show. Talented riders will fly high into the air and perform some of the most difficult tricks including the Superman, Tsunami and Rock Solid. Canadian Craig Latimer will add some excitement with his Sportbike stunts, including variations of the classic burnouts and wheelies. Jordan Szoke will round out the action with his Observed Trials demonstration. He will maneuver over obstacles with balance and precision. Four-year-old Wolfgang Szoke may join in, proving you are never too young to start riding.
The concourse of the Corral will feature one-of-a-kind customs, which are sure to impress, or check out the Irv 100, the first Canadian production model by Williams Custom Bikes.
