Re: What did you do today...
I took my stepdaughter to the "Gathering of the Nortons" today (21st annual). This is the annual show of the Delaware Valley Norton Riders club, which started small and has grown over time. It's one of those shows where the bikes in the parking lot are almost as interesting as the bikes on display -- and almost everything is ridden there, not trailered.
My stepdaughter likes riding her Harley Sportster, but isn't really connected to the history and culture of our sport. So, for example, she had never seen a vintage Indian with a suicide shifter, never heard a vintage Triumph bobber with straight pipes, never seen a CBX (I told her, "count the exhaust headers..." ), never seen a Montessa. I got to show her a Vincent Black Shadow - my vote for the most beautiful bike of all time. It was interesting to watch her realize there's more to all this than what the Harley marketing people want us to think.

Re: What did you do today...
Lucky you. I was planning on going to the Tsawwassen Classic Bike show this past Sunday and taking one of my bosses who is looking for a project bike to do with his kids, but sadly it was cancelled at the last minute. Last time I went there were around four Vincent's and yeah I have to agree with you, they have got to be the beautiful bike ever.jstark47 wrote:I took my stepdaughter to the "Gathering of the Nortons" today (21st annual). For cookies, they will hoist the bike onto their shoulders, carry it into the van, then help you drive the van back across the continent.......ceemes wrote:Let me guess, if I bring cookies, they will help me load the van?jstark47 wrote:Ooooo, be careful about that. Re: What did you do today...
It is still at the dealer so no picks yet other than the key and the owners manual. I came very close to an NC700X but I got a better deal on the Suzuki and better financing.
