Ya, that, really, REALLY, REALLY sucked.

I'm afraid to fill up our car, I just have a feeling it is going to be over £80.

I have to say, that NHS is a good idea, the dentist offices are not the highest on the rung and the in-out 10 min appointments are a little too quick (but good enough); the HNS hospitals are "ok" (unlike the Private hospitals that are like 5 star hotels and charge as much!!).

But overall, pretty happy with NHS thus far. :D

May I please point out thst the NHS is not free!
the principles set out by Aneurin Bevin in 1948 included that it should be free at the point of need. This holds true today as regardless of income (or lack of).

Whilst the administrative system may need reform, medics from all over the world still choose to further their training here in the UK so the science & skill are still well regarded.

The private sector is staffed by people trained by the NHS (& often employed by). The vast majority of private patients requiring intensive care (critical) are tranferred back into the NHS & the bill is picked up by the taxpayer NOT the insurance company.

Ok rant over, but thought the debate should include the facts.
