Hi All-

My new video focuses on the controversial issue of riding motorcycles when you still have young kids at home. Some give up riding altogether. Some curtail it. And some keep on going.... How did you handle it?

Hi-

It's not a matter of opinion, Richard. I've made 23 videos so far, and this one has the most comments and feedback by an exponential amount - 7x, to be exact. That, by definition, makes it a controversial issue.

Kids are only good for two things, decent stews and cheap labour.....once they are too big for the stew pot, time to put the little buggers to work.......while daddy goes riding......problem/controversy solved.

now you know why I am never invited to family gatherings anymore

I reject the assertion that this is a controversial issue.

I make this statement because I see no reason to create a controversy out of what is a personal choice. How much risk each man is willing to accept for any given activity is a matter of personal choice and I am no more willing to tell another man that his choice is wrong when it comes to riding a motorcycle when he is responsible for children than I am going to tell another rider to put on a helmet. Nor am I willing to accept the judgement of another person that riding a motorcycle is just stupidly dangerous.

Comport you life as you wish, and I will do the same.

In an environment where each man has an abiding respect for the right of other men to make decisions about their own lives, there is not all that much that is controversial.

Safe Travels,
Richard

That's semantic. What I meant by "controversial" is the conventional definition, namely that it's a polarizing subject that results in many diverse opinions - and again, it's not a subjective matter. This video received more comments and started more threads than all the others. That's not to say one should tell another how to live - it is to say many live in different ways.

Sigh .... you still don't get it.

Obtuse?

I am not arguing what is or is not controversial, I am clearly saying that their need be no controversy if we simple respect the right of each man to make such decisions for himself.

How many different responses you get to your videos is of no consequence.

Have a great day!
Richard
