Hi, I have a suzuki gs1100, what is the best way to replace the timing chain?

I always break the chain, hook the new chain to the old, and pull it in. Have you obtained the manual for your bike yet. You are going to need it.

Yes I have a manual, what tools will I need to do the job,I'm also needing to do the shims ,will I need a valve shim tool? Will I also have to get an Engine timing chain link remover and replacer?
