ive been a mechanic for almost 10 years and have never heard of time sert. We use keenserts for most of our applications because of the very reasons mentioned about helicoils. The only time I have found helicoils to be worthwhile is when its NOT a through hole.

Just saw video on those time serts. Sorry I still see helicoils as a better alternative. However the video I saw was a guy threading the material with a drill. Sorry but I like to tap all my holes by hand. If that tap breaks you will be more likely to be able to remove it when taping by hand. Plus I have found taping by hand just goes quicker most times.
