Stop laughing!

The situation:
-carbs clean
-boots to airfilter deteriorated
-good oil and filter
-good fuel supply
-good spark
-ignition set

The problem
-only a kickstart
-won't start
-I'm the weakest mother around

How do I get this thing to fire after God knows how many years? If she'll give me a sign, then I'll manufacture someway to get the air filtered. If she won't- she'll go to someone who wants to deal with her.

Kick it like you mean it.

Then, when your knackered right out, scam some other fool to do the kicking while you 'adjust the mixture'

400 won't start

I don't know your bike- but on my suzuki gn400 there is a compression release lever- I squeeze it, step on the kick start and push it all the way, when it comes back up (with choke out-cold engine) I kick it down hard, -it usually starts then and I push the choke back in. It won't do any thing without using that compression release lever -using it lines everything up.

mine is on the left handle beneath the clutch -I don't have an electric starter.

Good luck
