electri-what?

#1 Unread post by Johnny Gaijin »

so recently the light in my tachyometer went out, my neutral indicator light quit working 1/2 the time, and my bright headlight indicator quit working. this all happened at the same time. what's going on? i've got 1975 honda cl360. any ideas where to start would be much appreciated.

While i am not familiar with your bike enough to point out exacty where the problem is, we can in all safety say that the problem is in the wiring to the dash cluster.

As it is unlikely that the wires for all your now non-funtional bulbs all would have failed independantly at the same time, I would suggest looking at the earthing points for the dash bulbs. A loose of dirty ground will lead to such problems.

Many times the dash part of the loom is made so that three or so of the dash lights are grounded by one main ground wire.

Follow the harness coming out of the cluster. Any wire that eventually bolts to the chassis is a ground wire.
