well hello all ! im Joe > i have an issue with my bike was driving down the hwy when my bike just went into neutral and will not shift it starts and runs fine just wont engage in drive , will not shift has anyone ever had this happen ? is it clutch or maybe shifting linkage , any help would be appreciated !

If nothing in the final drive is broken then my first check would be the clutch for sure
there aint nothin like it

Were you cruising down the road in gear or did you operate the clutch when this happened?
Did the lever feel 'different' at the time?

How do you know it's in neutral? Got the neutral light on when the engine is running? Did the neutral light just pop on when you were cruising?

Put it up on the centerstand (it has one?). Engine off.

Using your hand to rotate the rear wheel can you use the shift lever to make something that sounds like gear changes? Can you hear the transmission gears turning?

Can you hear or feel anything else that might be worth describing?
