1980 Honda CM 400t Carb drain problem.
Hello all, I have a 1980 Honda CM 400t and I drained the carbs last night. When I screwed the drain plug back in there were no leaks or drainage coming from the lines last night. Today when I started it up the carbs continue to drain until I shut the fuel line off. I can't think of what could have changed from last night to today and am wondering if anyone might know the cause of the drainage. Thanks.

float pin or float is probably stuck put a pan under it turn on the fuel and tap the carb with a wrench and see if it busts loose.

Thanks for the reply. I tried tapping the carbs while the fuel was on, but the draining never stopped.

finally got around to pulling the carbs and attempting to clean them, but the screws on the float bowl are all stripped. I put the carbs back on the bike and the gas leaked has stoppped, but now the right carb isn't firing and the pipe on the right side is warm at best after letting it idle, while the left side is hot. Any advice on removing these stripped screws or what the issue with the right side carb could be? Thanks for the help.

also it will only stay idling with full choke, it dies quickly after I release the choke.

Your description says the intake is leaking air.
People say I'm stupid and apathetic. I don't know what that means, and I don't care.

Thanks for the reply, the boots are in pretty bad shape. I'll have to look for some replacements. Thanks again.
