07 hyosung 250 gt chain issue
So my bike is having issues with keeping the chain on it likes to pop off once I hit 2nd gear it started a month ago with the chain had a lot of extra play so I put it back on and slide the rear tire back to tighten the chain ran great then last night on way home form riding on a long road trip I had to go down a gravel road and the chain piped off again. The tension. On the chain looks good but it pops off in 2nd gear now

if you slid the wheel back and got it cocked a little bit the mis-aligned sprocket would tend to want to throw the chain.
Check rear wheel alignment very carefully.
Also don't trust the marks on the swingarm completely. Sometimes they aren't right.

+1, its probably nothing to do with the gear but accrued speed that's throwing your chain they must be equal.
there aint nothin like it

Sorry I agree the op stated 2nd gear his chain popped off I meant IMO you are correct the axle is not even. I also meant second gear really had nothing to do with the problem if the op was worried it was a trans issue. The speed of the wheel with an uneven adjustment is most probably the cause as you stated not the gear he was in.

Your response sort of looked like govt/accountantese which requires some sort of translator for normal people.
Bottom line- chain throwing is not a gear issue. It's either chain slack/wear or sprocket misalignment. The speed just moves the slack around.
