Transmission not engaging

#1 Unread post by Rghudnall »

I have a 2004 Suzuki Marauder1600 that I had a bearing go out in the front bevel gear and throw metal throughout the engine last summer. I tore down the motor and cleaned everything out and replaced the bearing. While it was down I replaced the clutch plates and put in a heavier spring plate. After many months I finally was able to fire it up and it sounds good. However I have no gears. While I was trying to fire it I couldn't find neutral but it felt like a gear was engaged when I tried to rotate the rear tire. After it started up it feels like the rear tire is spinning free but I can't shift through any of the gears. Any suggestions?

Perhaps you should start with rechecking the clutch adjustment.
You changed that with the new parts and it may need resetting.
