Resurrected post, but just to add; generally speaking, a bike on its side stand is more stable than a bike on a centerstand. The "three-sided base" formed by the front tire contact patch, rear tire contact patch, and the foot of the sidestand is much larger than the three-sided base formed by a single tire contact patch (usually the front tire), and the two feet of the centerstand.jrdudas wrote:I can see that the stand adds a little cost and weight to the bike, but I have always thought that side stands are far less stable than a center stand.
