We had a local track that when it opened was 10 miles from anywhere. 10 years after it opened the subdivisions that had opened up next to it complained so much that they got it shut down.

DIA also has the steepest rates for takeoff and decent in the country because of all the neighborhoods that have opened up directly in it's flight path, then started complaining about the noise after they moved in...

I just don't get people like that.

There used to be a race track called Westwood...it was in Coquitlam...a community near Vancouver. The racetrack was in the middle of a forest up a dirt road...miles from anything. Eventually land started to get sold to developers and the "Westwood Plateau" became an expensive housing district. Although Westwood track is gone, the Westwood racing club still exists, but it races at a track in Mission.

Another stupid case in Vancouver; in an industrial area of downtown Vancouver, they ran Indy Vancouver. The track was a street course and it circled our two main sports venues, BC Place, the footbal stadium and GM Place, (now Rogers Arena) the home of the Vancouver Canucks. All around the course, they started developing highrise condominiums, people moved in and many held "Indy" parties so their friends could watch the race for free from the balconies. Others moved in and complained that the (once a year) noise was too loud, hence no more Indy races in Vancouver... A loss of several millions of dollars to the local businesses for a weekend event.

This may be the last grain elevator in the Kansas City metro. Next up is your bike with a farm setting. Extra points for chickens in the picture.

People say I'm stupid and apathetic. I don't know what that means, and I don't care.

When you say 'street light', do you mean just a regular old street lamp? Or a red-yellow-green traffic signal?

I mean a regular street light that provides shadowy and mysterious lighting on a dark sidewalk or back alley.
