Meh if you're gonna wheelie at high speeds might as well get good enough that you don't have to drop the front tire til you come to a stop!
Braking while wheelying is some impressive skills...

Thank you, Sir!

Question answered!

Dan
You are welcome.

And please don't call me Sir.

Pass me the band-aids, while you're at it.

Wheelies do serve one purpose: Throttle control. Obviously only on private property (namely, OFFROAD.)

Good site for not learning how to do something (because we might get hurt or might hurt our bikes). Thanks mommy.

You are, of course, right! In Florida parking lots are private property, but public access means police officers can, and do, patrol them for safety purposes. Florida law now makes it a specific violation, and $500.00 fine to lift the front tire. I have Many years experience riding, including 10 on a police bike. It's all technique, I've made a police Harley stand up and a Honda 90, too. I have a Hayabusa that requires no technique at all, just twist the handle. A 500 pound unicycle is not a good idea, not to mention the $500 fine.

I know two guys in our small town that can wheelie anything from a mountain bike to a Road King. They have a natural ability to find the balance point in anything...I've popped a couple in my younger days by accident and almost crapped myself....... :)

Nice write up BuzZz! (You really should be a pro-M/C writer)....anyway....

Buying a dirt bike is a great idea!

I used to practice in the Desert located in Victoria, Australia....nice soft red dirt to fall off onto, very forgiving.

Luckily I never fell off....Lol.

Now....we are talking about the front wheel up in the air right!.....not making black marks on the road behind you.
If you must do it:
*buy a dirt-bike
*land on "O Ring"
*repeat
*You have arrived when your "O Ring" stops hurting
