Why not ride a trike?

#1 Unread post by scooter12 »

Often friends ask, why not ride a trike verses a scooter? The trike, I feel, ruins the true two wheel experience. This is because a trike handles differently than a motorcycle. The scooter handles pretty much the same way as a motorcycle- both have 2 wheels, both you must lean into corners. The larger the engine the more power one has to excel out of a corner. But the scooters don't have gears- no downshifting to slow down or traveling up a hill well if to steep, one might put in a lower gear to get up the hill. A trike has gears but 3 wheels handle differently than 2.. A trike also is as difficult to ride as a motorcycle, for me. See, I can shift the gears and pull in the clutch, because the left side of my body is normal. On some motorcycles, I can use the foot brake- needs to sit level with the foot peg. Some motorcycles I can pull in the front brake.. Some brakes are stiffer than others. But I prefer a scoot over a trike because the scoot seems more like a motorcycle.
