Yep, an ol' native Tarheel here, living and working in Asheville. If you live in the Old North State post up and tell me about yourself!
Let me get this straight... it's one down and four up, right?

Hey! I live in Cullowhee/Sylva which is just about an hour south west of A-town. We usually just call it Sylvawhee. I drive a 1981 Yamaha XT250 when it actually works. Its my first bike and i've only had it since November.

Great! I attended WCU there. Of course, that was back before recorded history. PCs, CDs, etc. hadn't been thunk up yet!

I usually get the chance to tour around Jackson County a couple times a year - some great roads out that way.

You a Catamount, too, by any chance?

how's it going poppy? I'm new to the board and live just outside Charlotte. The only time I spent in Asheville was @ Grove Park Inn w/ my ex. (it didn't work-LOL) She wanted to go back, but didn't change her mind about us. Anyway, took MSF class last fall and am looking for a ride. If you know anybody with American/ H-D, have 'em check out TCXCUSTOMS on the web. I know these guys and they turn out some sick work. As for me, 1st bike will be metric. After that, who knows.

Welcome to the forum, autumnwindridr!

Charlotte's a cool town fer sure. (I've always thought it should be the State Capitol. ) Sorry about the EX thing - divorce sucks, but sometimes it's the best you can do. Been there.

A co-worker of mine bought a new Sportster last summer, so I'll forward your recommendation about TCX to him, thanks.

Glad you've taken the MSF - smart move. What bikes are you interested in?

thought about Sportster, but with $$ kind of tight I am leaning towards Suzuki C50 or Yamaha VStar650. Wanting something to ride and put miles on.
If you like NASCAR(of course you do- fellow Tarheel  ), then you might like the TCX site also. they built a burn out bike that uses racing slicks from the #8, Dale Jr. there's a small vid clip that shows it at Daytona this past March.
would like to be riding in this nice weather- besides, I need to put some rubber on the road and time in the seat before I can venture out to meet some of ya'll fellow riders.
I am so glad I found this site. :D
telling friends about it, too.
