Wild Hog Fest to salute 39th Brigade's Troop E
By BETTY ADAMS World Staff Writer

In conjunction with the annual bike parade, this year's Wild Hog Musicfest and Motorcycle Rally will honor the returning soldiers of Troop E of the 39th Brigade. The soldiers will participate with the Color Guard of the Central High Reserved Officers Training Corps prior to the start of the bikers' parade, which will start at the corner of Cherry and York streets.

During the weekend of the Festival, there are several memorial parades across Arkansas honoring all fallen heroes. The Wild Hog Festival also will memorialize the actions of these brave men and women. Bikes participating in the parade will bear a yellow ribbon with a black band to recognize our brave troops.

The 39th was deployed to Iraq in March 2004 and began returning home March 2005. Some started their active duty as early as October 2003 having reported to Camp Robinson and to Fort Hood, Texas upon deployment. Some may have had extended tours lasting up to 730 days.

The members of the Wild Hog Music Festival would like to express their gratitude to these soldiers who fought for our freedom and their sympathy for those who paid the ultimate price. The troops will march down Cherry St. at 5:30 p.m. Friday, April 22. A cake fellowship for the troops will be held following the parade at the Wild Hog Saloon.

Troops who show their military I.D. will be allowed to attend the rally at no charge on Saturday.
