I'll second the suggestion for riding Hwy 101. I've ridden it from Shelton, Washington to Sappho, Washington and then taken Hwy 113/112 back along the coast to Port Angeles.

If you're wanting to go into B.C., you could take the car ferry from Port Angeles to Victoria, BC. From there, ride up Hwy 17 through North Saanich to the Swartz Bay Ferry. A car ferry will take you to the mainland, where you would pick up Hwy 17 into Vancouver, BC, or go south on Hwy 99 back into Washington.

May weather in this part of Washington is cool, with average temps running 45F to 65F. It can get down into the upper 20s, and upon occasion, over 90F. Rainfall runs around 2 to 3 inches for the month of May.

Enjoy your stay, and if possible, post a journal of your trip here.
