Need Help on Motorcycle History

#1 Unread post by indy1010 »

Hello everyone. I needed some help on something. I heard that around the 50's and 60's there was a gang of bikers that would race from bar to bar. They would challenge each other that they could race to the next bar before a song on the jukebox was finished, they would call back to confirm it. I think it was around Florida. Well my question is, does anyone know more about this story? Or can help me as to where I can find more information on it? Thanks.

Heard this before except not Florida, I heard it was Cockneys on the Lower East Side. Not bars but coffee houses (sorta of a Pub/Cafe combo) This was where the term "Cafe Racer" came from.
