Carlsbad, oh man, my grandma lives down there, great place, beach is close, nice weather, though way to many damn housing projects going up, and way to many cars, good look there buddy :)

hey, im from san francisco, going to school in irvine.
i was hoping someone here could tell me a quality and friendly mechanic that could work on the cams for my '78 honda. they are sounding really bad, and i think it is a bigger problem than just adjusting the valves
currently fixing my bike: 1978 Honda Hawk CB400T, orange

if my bike still doesnt work well after, might get: 1985 Honda Sabre VF700S

Rides around Sacramento

#46 Unread post by guitar guru »

I'm gonna be in Sacramento all summer and my friend owns a bike, so naturally I want to go on some rides with him. Anybody know some good places to spend a day of riding? I don't want anything too out of the way, and I want something where we can come back home after we're done for the day. Highway 49 looks interesting, but I'm concerned about traffic.

Anyone have any ideas?

Also, if anyone knows a good website to check out to find some good rides around Sacto (besides Pashnit) I'd love to know. Thanks!

Yeah, I was looking at that on Google Earth. It looks like it'd be fun to take that until it connects to 49, then take hwy 49 to 80, and then 80 back to Sac. We'd get in all kinds of riding. Do you know how many miles that route is?

guitar guru...Well from my house to Salmon Falls road...to 49 back towards Placerville to 50 and back to my house...it is like 55 miles. So I am going to guess that going 49 to Auburn to 80 would be more like 70 miles...

also...consider checking out the delta road...hwy 160...you can catch off of 80 in West Sac..Jeffereson Blvd...heading south to river road...that will take you to hwy 160...it follows the delta..crossing over several times..you go through a few neat little towns...etc..if you follow it all the way you will end up inn Anticoh..on hwy 4.

Lots of great riding around here....when the weather gets better...
