Blue Ridge Pkwy

#1 Unread post by Johnj »

Hey does anybody know what the speed limits are on the Blue ridge Parkway and Skyline Drive? I'm planning a ride later this spring and need to know.
People say I'm stupid and apathetic. I don't know what that means, and I don't care.

Lucky you! I recall it being 45 mph when I was there several years ago, although I believe I went faster.... :boat:
IMO the NC side had more stunning scenery than the VA side. I did the whole works including The Great Smokey Mountain & the Shenandoah National Park.

skyline is 35 and blueridge is 45

Last time I went all the way down I started at skyline, hopped onto the blueridge, did the dragon and the snake for fun, hit the cherohola skyway, then the natchez trace. Best route from DC to New Orleans in existence

depends on which part you want to get on. You could take 20W to highway 221 and take that all the way up. That will put you on the parkway near GrandFather Mountain, between ashville and the Va state line. You could also take 20 to 78 then get on 441 in Athens, that will take you straight up to the begining of it in cherokee.
