For the first time a long time, I had to click the "uncool" button...

I can't see how this size and weight of bike makes it useful as a full adventure bike. My first thought was, "how easy is that bike going to be to clean once you've taken it on a real adventure?" It looks to me to have a fairly intricate design which makes it look cool but seems a bit impractical. On top of it all, who needs a 1200cc adventure bike?

I voted: Uncool

This was really a hard decision for me, in fact I think this was the hardest bike to vote for since we started the Cool Wall and I actually changed my vote 3 times before settling on uncool (cool, uncool and fail).

Cool points: I really love the blue color of the bike and it's "don't mess with me" look. Plus the engine and power are right up there in my books. 10,000 mile service? Bring it on!!

Uncool points: How many hours do I have to spend cleaning the mud/dirt from the frame? Seriously?!

Fail points: Almost 600lb in weight for an off roader? Really? That's just way too heavy and it's quite top heavy as well (from what I've read). I just can't see this as an off-roader... a touring bike sure, it would be like a big comfy Buick on the road, but off road (other than in the desert), no thanks. Plus those tires need to be changed for more serious rubber to take that on as well.

Good try Triumph, you are adding another Adverture choice to your lineup... but I'd love to see a video of someone taking it off road...

I went to the show today. I sat on it. It's heavy. The Tiger 800 is a cool bike - this one, not so much.

Was that the one up on the platform that they were dancing around? The silliness of the promotional activities kind of distracted me from the bike. But plastic-clad superbikes tend to look the same to me (with the possible exception of Agusta F4's...)
