I test drove a used one once. It was the most comfortable seat and ride I've ever been on, would of been better for trips with the wife than anything I've owned but it just did not stir any passion for me.

Forgot of course the price, 20k plus is too much when there are other great options for less.

They coined the phrase Yamadavidson just for this bike.
Always ask why.

I don't really get baggers. They're not as good looking as just plain cruisers, and they're not as versatile as a full dress tourer like a Goldwing or K1600GTL. Plus this one's an expensive knock-off that doesn't really bring anything new to the table. I mean, if they're going to rip-off H-D, couldn't they at least be more high tech than H-D? Uncool.

Uncool. Most of the reasons have already been stated (carbs instead of EFI, Harley knock-off, etc) and for me the biggest downer is the blatant copy of Harley's styling. I wonder how many times a day an owner hears "is that a Harley?"

On the plus side, though, is the 5 year warranty. It's a good deal if you don't put a lot of miles on the bike, as it has a mileage limit of 30k, but after viewing it in detail on the Yamaha Canada website it is better than what most manufacturers offer. Just don't install a sidecar, trailer or trike conversion, though, or it will be voided.

The bike does have one main feature that I've been waiting for years for Harley to come out with - a liquid cooled motor in a full dresser. Slap an increased displacement V-Rod mill in a Road Glide and you would have one awesome touring machine.
