Very nice looking bike. Price is off the chart, 29k to start is too much for me. Can not vote it uncool, for those that want or can spend that kind of money it looks like a great bike. Cool vote for me.

While it has the potential to be fairly "cool"..... the color they chose for these pictures is so "uncool" it almost lost me. Looks like a '60s vintage Glasstron fiberglass boat with the fins on the back. Color not cool at all. Change pictures to black or black and gray or black and ivory and I'll upgrade my vote. Until then, just an over priced touring want-to-be

It looks like a frigin' throw back to 1950's kitchen kitsch, full of tacky plastic and gaudy pastel colours......plus that honking great dash board and LED screen.....WTF are they thinking, oh right, they f'ing weren't thinking. Congrat's Indian, you have on gone and made Harley Davidson look cool and acceptable in my eyes....and that is saying something.............someone take that unholy abortion of a bike out back, pour gas on it and strike a match......just to put it out of is misery.

Awesome. After several failed attempts at resurrecting the name over the last few decades, Polaris has finally managed to do what others could not; produce a true, non S&S Harley clone version of an old legend. I like the styling, but then I've always been a fan of traditional designs and not the swoopy, angular, impersonal lines of many modern bikes like the Victory lineup.

Yes, the Indians (with the exception of the Scout) are overpriced. Yes, some of the colour options are a bit wonky; Thunder Black over Ivory Cream looks wayyyy better, IMO. Yes, the dealership network is stretched thin up here in Canada. But I don't really care, I like the bike. It joins the Moto Guzzi California, Kawasaki Vaquero and Victory Cross Country Tour as the only bikes on my short list if I ever get rid of my Road Glide. (Mr Ceemes, take note there are no Harleys on this shortlist.)

Never been one for those fenders. But I like it from far away. That dash set up is God awful looking though.

Uncool. I really like Indian (well, the current Polaris-owned version of the Indian Motorcycle Company), especially the Scout. Even retro styling has its ebbs and flows, and 1950s-inspired styling just looks kitschy and crass now.

Plus, the LED screen integrated into the dash looks terrible. What happens a few years from now when that tech is outdated? (Even now, I don't see the point especially with the computing power of smart phones).

While this isn't my style of bike (not yet anyways), I had to vote: Awesome.

As mentioned above, Indian (Polaris) has really come into it's own with the brand. It's unique styling, a throwback to the 50's and now paint to match. It's crazy, unique and uber expensive, but if you got the dosh, you can't hate it. Way to go Indian for making something that is original, if a bit, narrow in appeal, but still, very custom.

Grey Thumper makes a good point with technology in bikes (as well as in cars), will it outdate? Sure will and in 20 years time, it may not even work or it would be like having a IBM 486 computer, slow, meaningless and gawd aweful to run any of today's software. But what are manufacturers gonna do? Some riders want lots of tech and it helps bring the "value" / price up as well. For me, I like it K.I.S.S. on my bikes, the simpler the more the machine talks to me and that's something I love; It's not for everyone but it works for me. :revv:

Congrats Indian on making a fine bike... now, can you PLEASE bring back the custom paint style jobs on your Victory line (or do something other than black)?

Mike

2017 Indian Roadmaster - Coolness Factor = 59.5%
Featured: July 29th - August 5th, 2016
Most popular vote category: Cool

Motorcycle Cool Wall discussion: viewtopic.php?f=61&t=53398
Total Motorcycle model page: http://www.totalmotorcycle.com/motorcyc ... master.htm

Your Coolness Factor of the 2017 Indian Roadmaster is:

Awesome (3 points) 25% 25% [ 7 ]
Cool (2 points) 39% 39% [ 11 ]
Uncool (1 point) 25% 25% [ 7 ]
Fail (0 point) 11% 11% [ 3 ]

Total votes: 28

= a Coolwall Factor of 59.5%

Notes: Indian crates something unique and custom, sadly, the 50s style is now a niche market. The 2017 Indian Roadmaster isn't everyone's cup of tea with a sea of green plastic and big touch screen tech package that may be outdated already. That said, Polaris has really grown into and expanded the Indian brand and they have something for almost every rider. At a score of 59.5% isn't a great score but it does go to show that every vote counts, so make sure you vote each week. :)

Get excited as the next TMW Cool Wall bike for 2016 is now up for voting and discussion, have fun!
