Re: This Week: 2017 Victory Vegas 8-Ball - VOTE NOW

Unread post by totalmotorcycle » Fri Nov 11, 2016 10:38 am

Wow, it is November 2016 already? Where has the year gone? In fact, where has time gone? I remember it was "just" 16 years ago I started the "100% Motorcycle Website" in 2000 and in 2003, that (horrible name) became Total Motorcycle!*... *mostly because I couldn't register a "100%" lol. I used to get around 10,000 visitors a month, now it is in the multi-millions, although each user, to me, is not any less special. Ok, that was a rabbit hole.

Speaking of which, I have a little tid-bit of information, we soon shall have some big changes coming to Total Motorcycle. They have been in the works now since August 4th and those changes are about 95% complete... you just can't see them just yet. Some changes can be bad, but I promise you, these changes are not the case; in fact, it's super-exciting. Oh, I'd love to tell you more, but I have to be patient as well.

More to come.

Terrible grouping of unrelated parts and styles on a tired old frame. Complete miss..........

I like the bike, I voted cool. But..that front rim just looks not quite right. I wonder if its one of those bikes that once you see them in the showroom in person they look a lot better. To me it looks like they went for the blacked out look then blam that chrome rim up front.
Looking at It again I think a black rim of some sort would look a lot better.

I'm with you on that one. It is more awkward because they have gone to such lengths to remove all the usual chrome. Even the pipes are black and then the wheels are total bling. Maybe it's a Vegas thing?

In the spirit of the new non-PC Political climate, all one can say about that wheel is:

I went with: Uncool.

It is interesting to see such scatter gun results on the voting so far, it's all over the place. But like you all, (and I asked Andrea as well) the rims are just... incredibly odd?

As montanalifter was saying, maybe it's something that looks wacked in the photos but great in person? Gez, I hope so, as that really looks odd. Other than that, I do really like the Vegas, not the 8-ball, but the more "blingy one" of years past when Victory actually did the best "custom" paint jobs in the industry. Now, even the non-S models are... not so interesting. Now, it feels like it's a tired model, needs something more and hopefully a refresh. After all, look at what they have done with the Indian line of bikes! Have they given Victory the back burner?

That said, you can't beat the price of the 8-Ball, it's $1000 less for a black bike and the starting price isn't bad at all.

Mike.

Total Motorcycle model page: http://www.totalmotorcycle.com/motorcyc ... 8-Ball.htm

Your Coolness Factor of the 2017 Victory Vegas 8-Ball is:

Awesome (3 points) 27% [ 7 ]
Cool (2 points) 35% [ 9 ]
Uncool (1 point) 27% [ 7 ]
Fail (0 point) 12% [ 3 ]

Total votes: 26

= a Coolwall Factor of 59.0%

Notes: Odd. That would be the word that I think most TMW readers would say about the 2017 Victory Vegas 8-Ball. And the split-across-the-board votes say this too. Which is interesting because we don't get many bikes up the TMW Cool Wall that are like this and usually not from a main-line manufacturer with a bread-and-butter staple model. Let's hope it look better in person than in pictures, otherwise, the Vegas 8-Ball may raise eyebrows, but not in a good way.

Get excited as the next TMW Cool Wall bike for 2016 is now up for voting and discussion, have fun!
