Hello fellow riders!!
I am thinking about getting on a Buell - namely the 1125R - just tired of my 98 CBRXX..

I heard, that possibly the Buell bikes are coming back??

The more "research" i do, the more I like the bike, but have not known anyone that actually had it and spent few miles on it.
Anyone knows anything???

There is one '08 for 6700, but shop owner told me over the phne, it needs "fork seals" and those were "just ordered".. HUH???
This bike suppose to have only 1500 miles, and already fork seal's leaking?? Not a good finding.. Well, anyway, who knows!

Please, any advice is appreciated.

"keep it rubber down"...

LFXX

EBR is supposedly set to make a new, mass-produced 1190 streetbike available mid-summer. I don't think EBR has officially announced any new models, they are supposedly offering contingency on the bike after mid-summer and the rumor mill says new bikes are coming. Plus, my Harley dealer told me that they will no longer be supporting Buell parts mid-summer. My response was, "well, it's mostly Harley "poo poo" that breaks on it, so I should be fine." :)

Fork seals can leak from weird things. Sometimes it's over-tightening tie down straps, some times it's wheelies, some times the fork lower is bent, sometimes people get curious about what they get under the dust seals and sometimes it's just wear.

The 1125CR is a really cool bike. I would just make sure it's had any and all recalls done.

Tony yes I agree, I have an 09 1125CR and it is a blast to run around on. I've also heard that Erik has a new bike waiting. Harley will be supporting Buells longer than mid-summer, I have a maintenance agreement through 11/16.

Unfortunately, they didn't offer me a service agreement on mine. :)

He did say that they are honoring all extended warranties.

I would think that they should be able to check the VIN and search for recalls. I never actually owed a motorcycle that had a recall on it.

They should have all the updates to the firmware and the software, but I bet they don't put tires on it. It likes tires. :P

Hey learn something new everyday!! I never saw this section before.
Ya Buells are gonna be around for awhile yet and I hear tell next year more models but we will see.
I have an 09 CR as well I have not had a stator problem yet but the fat lady aint sung yet either. I replaced the clutch acuator with the EBR set up(no more weep) I put a Barker exhaust with a 1.5" quite core and am running Dris's tune for the Barker. I put on high bars so no more clubmans and pulled the wasp mirrors for bar enders and flush mounted some mini blinkers up front, I also put in ddm HID in the low beam only and put on D-3 grips.
I am currently running battleaxe 016 Bridgestones I think it is bought em on sale last year fair tire better than the pirelli corsa tire they just don't last.
I think for $6700 you could do much better in the price. Try this

I'll add in that when a vehicle is manufactured for sale in the U.S., the DOT requires parts to be available for 10 years, even if a company goes under. So yes, HD, as the previous owner of Buell, will have parts available past mid-summer.
