Why not WAIT? Since it is obvious you don't really know WHAT you want, just yet.

For now, take the MSF, find a decent USED motorcycle that you can pay cash for (and will cost you WAAAAY less to insure, etc.) and ride that for a year or so.

THEN, once you've got this riding thing down on an actual motorcycle, you will be better able to judge truly how much acceleration is "not enough" and what is really important. Buying new costs SOOO much money in insurance, in interest, in lo$$ if/when you decide you "need" to upgrade or switch bikes in a year.

Keep in mind, you're buying your FIRST motorcycle, not your last. Many folks realize that what they thought they wanted (before they really began riding) isn't what they REALLY want. Buying something to 'grow into' works for a computer, but not very well for a motorcycle.

Take a rideing course from the H-D dealership - they use the Blast.

I gt a used Blast and had a great time. It hauled my wide load up to 85MPH and had a little more to give. I rode it on the highways quite a bit. Since it is so light, a really crappy road will make you feel every crack and pothole.

Now my wife rides it

Also, here is a shot with my wife in a large group escorting servicemen/women back to the USA.
