Newbie Here to the Forum

#1 Unread post by davea7 »

Hello to All,
I just bought a 2002 Suzuki Katana. It's not a top bike but it's alot of fun to ride and since it's classified as a sport touring bike the insurance rates are fairly cheap. I had a 2001 Katana and sold it about 5 years ago and regreated it every summer since. I rode it alittle last evening since it was 55 degrees here in PA which it's usually 30's this time of the year. I plan to ride some today since it's in the 60's. Just trying to get the feel of riding again before I take off on a long ride.
Just wanted to say hi!

Any other Katana riders on here?

Hello and welcome to the forum. Your in the right thread for introducing yourself, although you didn't post a picture of your bike. :naughtynaughty:
People say I'm stupid and apathetic. I don't know what that means, and I don't care.

I rode abount 50 miles today. I guess that's better then 0. It snowed here 2 weeks ago so there is some cinders (anti skid) on the roads so I wanted to be careful. LOL

Welcome to the group...nice ride...I almost bought an '05 Katana 750, but chickened out...bought a more standard bike instead...I found the riding position of the Katana a little tight for my knees...but they are nice bikes...

Here's some help on the pic...

Image

The riding position on the 600 is very similar to a Honda VFR800...lots of guys use them for touring...and they are a pile of fun to ride too...

Later.

Thanks for the help with the pic! And thank you for the welcome. Not sure what I'll do to this bike yet. One thing I don't care for on it is the rear fender. I may trim it up alittle to expose the rear tire a little more. Thanks again!
